The primary purpose of the Project Management Maturity Model (PMMM) is to guide organizations to identify the most critical problems, attain control of their processes and developments, and to develop a software engineering culture. According to pmi.org, process maturity could be identified by the formality of process documentation, consistent adherence to the standardized processes, and the existence of constant review and improvement of those processes and their resultant products.
