Our two most recent essays, The Food Writer Who Lost Her Sense of Smell and I Used to Be a Writer Then I Got Sick, deal with the topics of physical well-being, illness, and injury. Our authors, Sofia Perez and Emma Smith-Stevens, directly address their own experiences while thoughtfully critiquing how illness and injury have first unseated, then reinforced, their personal and professional identities.
For our second paper, you will write a 4- to 5-page critical analysis of these essays. Your task will be to determine how the authors experiences relate to one another, and how they are different. I would like you to apply the same compare/contrast technique to the essays themselves, in terms of structure, purpose, and impact.
