In this paper, you are to construct an argument for a method of educating people about the issue of climate change. This paper will be approximately 1200 words and will include at least 4 primary sources (which you may use from our course or externally) to support your thesis.
Your primary goal will be to approach this important issue relying on the various methods we have explicated in class: the importance of human agency and our role in the changing world, both digitally and physically; the nature study movement and child wonderment; media archaeology and the anthropocene and e-waste; and climate awareness. You do not have to include all these points, but you must create a thesis argument and support your point throughout the essay.
Some possible approaches are (but not limited to) the following: What methods can we educate young people on the changing world? Who is best fit to explain these changes? Where should nature study education and engagement occur? What is your role as an active digital citizen? What will your role be in the future? What are methods for increasing empathy? etc..
Roy Scranton’s book will also offer several philosophical approaches to these questions should you have that text and you may use that as a source.
