Hello there, I need a Special Test Synopsis on the Fairbanks Patella Apprehension test. Below you will find what is exactly listed in my syllabus. Most importantly a source needs to be from the original text. Could probably be found on pubmed or a literature site.
o Each AT 522 student will write a (approximately 2-3 pages) paper on a special test of the lower extremity or lumbar spine. (Fairbank’s Test) The paper is to compare / contrast the selected special test (from at least 3 source descriptions), discuss the evidence for using the test, and contain a reflection on how this new knowledge impacts your clinical practice. The paper will include all the pertinent information concerning the selected special test (e.g., patient position, examiner position, hand placement, patient action, examiner action, positive test, pathologies, modifications, etc). The course text, related texts/articles, and the original journal article are suggested sources to fully explore the specified special test. One source must be the original description of the special test (students must exhaust all options in trying to find the original description). Another source must be a peer-reviewed journal article providing evidence (e.g., reliability, validity, sensitivity, specificity, etc.) for using the test. All journal articles cited must be copied and attached to the paper. Students must cite at least two related sources other than the course textbook. Special tests to be researched are chosen by the students and duplication will not be allowed. Grading guidelines for the summary include content and presentation (15 points); spelling, grammar and punctuation (5 points); format (10 points); and reflection/conclusion (10 points).
